BREAKING NEWS: Queen Latifah is working on one of the 90’s favorite black TV shows, Living Single reboot! Will you watch the new sitcom?
Ladies and gentlemen, let us be the first to break the news to you that the ’90’s kinda of girls’ are about to be 2000’s kinda of girls as well. One of the 1990’s hottest black TV shows is getting a reboot! Yes indeed, Queen Latifah is reportedly working on a ‘Living Single‘ sequel and she promised the new show will be juicier, featuring the original casts, minus/plus a couple of stars.
The rapper and producer says ‘Living Single‘ is currently in production and a release date is not yet announced. Queen Latifah – who was the lead actress on the show that runs from 1993 to 1998 discussed Living Single reboot with TV host Andy Cohen on his Watch What Happens Live show on Thursday. Remember, the successful TV show Friends is accused of ripping off Living Single.
A caller and fans of Living Single asked Latifah:
“With so many shows getting picked up for reboots, do you think [the new show] would ever make a comeback?”
“Funny you should ask… we’re actually working on it.”
The host asked her:
“So will this be a ‘Netflix thing,’ a la Gilmore Girls, or something that runs on TV?”
“still figuring all that out”
Regardless of which path the new show takes, it’s projected to be HUGE. I know I can’t wait to watch the show’s reboot; one of the 90’s favorite African-American/black shows on television. The airwaves were dominated by Martin, Family Matters, The Cosby Show and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and a few others.
