Cam Newton wins Super Bowl 50 and named MVP!
The NFL season is over folks and North Carolina Panthers’ Quaterback (QB) Cam Newton WINS Super Bowl 50, Most Valuable Player (MVP) by destroying the Broncos and Peyton Manning with a score of 34-12! With these awards and accomplishments, Cam Newton becomes the second player ever to win the Heisman, National Title (NCAA), MVP and the Super Bowl (NFL).
The only other play to achieve such pinnacle is Marcus Allen. He won the national title in 1978 and the Heisman in 1981 with the USC Trojans. In 1983, Allen won the Super Bowl with Los Angeles Raiders and league MVP in 1985. Cam Newton wins Super Bowl 50 on February 7, 2016 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California; making him the first to win the Panthers a Super Bowl and championship title.
Cam Newton was drafted 1st overall by North Carolina Panthers in 2011. The Panthers haven’t made a Super Bowl appearance since the 2003 season, led by QB Jake Delhomme and WR Steve Smith. They made the playoffs with an 11–5 records, earning the #3 seed in the NFC conference. The flamboyant and much socially talked player, Cam Newton wins Super Bowl 50 in style and is now the new face of the NFL. Even Peyton Manning, QB of the Broncos, which Cam Newton wins Super Bowl 50 against, alluded to that fact.
The Panthers defeated the 29–10 Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card game, St Louis Rams in St. Louis in double overtimes the following week, and a victory against Philadelphia Eagles with a score of 14–3. Cornerback (CB) Ricky Manning had 3 interceptions in that game to help the Panthers emerge victorious. However, they fell to New England Patriots’ star and future Hall of Fame QB Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick in the Super Bowl game.
